The mission of Eighth Avenue Obstetrics and Gynecology is to be leaders in developing, organizing, managing, and delivering the highest quality health care services with an emphasis in patient satisfaction. Appropriate areas of endeavor will include diagnosis, treatment, research, and education.
Description of Role
The Medical Assistant works closely with the healthcare providers to provide an optimal patient care experience in a medical office setting. This is a float position between 2 locations less than 1 mile from each other.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtains vital signs and acquires data from patients under the direct supervision of the provider
- Records data accurately in the patient’s medical record and scans or attaches appropriate provider/visit documentation to the patient chart
- Cleans and prepares exam rooms
- Protects patient information and HIPPA guidelines at all times
- Orders medical supplies
- Prepares and supplies patient results and visit information
- Places clinical calls and initiates patient prescription requests
- Chaperones provider exams, as needed
- Makes patients feel comfortable and cared for by the healthcare team
- Administers medication
- Acts as a patient advocate
- Sanitizes and autoclaves appropriate medical equipment and documents required maintenance logs
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
