We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and submitting medical claims for reimbursement.
Duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of medical codes (ICD-10, DRG) for billing purposes
- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding claim status and payment issues
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and coding guidelines
- Collaborate with the medical coding team to ensure accurate documentation and coding practices
