Overview:
EVMS Medical Group at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking an outstanding Patient Account Specialist to join the team.
The responsibilities of this position include reviewing charges and documentation for appropriate ICD 10 and CPT/HCPCS coding for accuracy to maximize reimbursement. Manually posting charges not generated in EPIC. Working closely with providers and clinical staff regarding charge and billing issues.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve coding and billing tasks assigned in EPIC work queues on a daily basis.
- Review clinical documentation for compliance to ensure accurate and timely charge capture.
- Manually posts charges rendered at non EPIC facilities.
- Identifies billing trends and issues and communicates to clinical departments making recommendations to improve charge capture processes and increase revenue.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in ICD 10 and CPT/HCPCS coding, knowledge of carrier rules and regulations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current CPC Certification.
- One year relevant experience in a medical billing environment preferred.
