Medical Doctor Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a medical doctor job in Phoenix?
Focus your search on Phoenix's largest employer categories: integrated health systems anchored in Midtown and the Camelback corridor, federally qualified health centers serving the city's underserved communities, and the growing network of ambulatory surgery and urgent care groups expanding into Ahwatukee and Scottsdale-adjacent neighborhoods. Candidates with board certification in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine move fastest in this market, and bilingual Spanish skills are a genuine differentiator given Phoenix's patient population.
Which companies hire medical doctors in Phoenix?
Phoenix medical doctor roles are posted by Phoenix Children's, Mayo Clinic, and CommonSpirit Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The Phoenix market includes a mix of large nonprofit health systems, for-profit hospital operators, and independent multispecialty group practices, many of which staff multiple facilities across the metro area.
Are there remote medical doctor jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, but they are limited by nature, since most medical doctor roles require direct patient contact in a clinic, hospital, or surgical setting. About 11% of medical doctor openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to focus on telemedicine primary care, utilization management, or medical review roles that do not require hands-on procedures.
How can I get a medical doctor job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is through residency-to-employment pipelines at the city's teaching hospitals and academic medical programs affiliated with the greater Phoenix area, where new attendings are regularly onboarded directly from training. Community health centers and federally qualified clinics in South Phoenix and the Laveen area actively recruit physicians completing residency, and locum tenens contracts at rural hospitals within driving distance of Phoenix are a common way to build attending experience before securing a permanent staff role.
Which industries hire the most medical doctors in Phoenix?
Most medical doctor openings in Phoenix sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's status as a major Sun Belt retirement destination and a rapidly growing metro with a younger working-age population drives steady inpatient, outpatient, and preventive care demand across those sectors year-round.
