Nurse Practitioner Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a nurse practitioner job in Raleigh?
The strongest opportunities in Raleigh are inside large health systems anchored along the I-540 corridor and in North Hills, alongside a growing urgent care and retail clinic sector downtown and in the suburbs. Candidates who hold a specialty certification in family, adult-gerontology, or psychiatric mental health stand out most in this market. Connecting directly with Raleigh's academic medical centers and multispecialty group practices gives you access to roles before they circulate widely.
Which companies hire nurse practitioners in Raleigh?
Employers hiring nurse practitioners in Raleigh right now include LiveWell Homecare Agency, UNC Health, and WakeMed Health & Hospitals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Raleigh's hiring landscape is shaped by large regional health systems, independent specialty practices, and a notable cluster of federally qualified health centers serving the city's growing population.
Are there remote nurse practitioner jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though remote options are limited given that most nurse practitioner roles require direct patient care. About 0% of nurse practitioner openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and these tend to be in telehealth platforms serving chronic disease management or behavioral health, sectors where Raleigh-based employers have expanded capacity in recent years.
How can I get a nurse practitioner job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Raleigh is through a nurse practitioner residency or fellowship, several of which are offered by the city's larger health systems and designed specifically for new graduates. Urgent care networks and community health centers in Raleigh also hire new NPs more readily than large hospital-based specialty practices. Coming in with a collaborative practice agreement already in place and a clear specialty focus significantly sharpens your candidacy in this competitive market.
Which industries hire the most nurse practitioners in Raleigh?
Raleigh nurse practitioner roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Raleigh's status as a fast-growing metro with a large and expanding Research Triangle biotech and life sciences presence continues to drive sustained hiring demand across these sectors.
