Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a nurse practitioner or physician assistant job in Atlanta?
Focus your search on Atlanta's major health system campuses in the Medical Center district, Midtown, and Buckhead, where multispecialty practices, academic medical centers, and large urgent care groups concentrate most openings. Candidates with experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or a high-demand specialty gain an edge in this competitive market. Networking through Grady Health System, Emory Healthcare, and Piedmont's affiliated clinics often surfaces roles before they are publicly listed.
Which companies hire nurse practitioner or physician assistants in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring nurse practitioner or physician assistants in Atlanta include Piedmont Healthcare, GlyCare, and Northside Hospital, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Atlanta's hiring mix is broad, ranging from large academic health systems and hospital-owned multispecialty groups to independent urgent care chains and federally qualified health centers serving the metro area.
Are there remote nurse practitioner or physician assistant jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited by nature since most nurse practitioner and physician assistant roles require direct patient contact. About 67% of nurse practitioner or physician assistant openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these tend to be in telehealth triage, utilization review, or managed care coordination rather than clinical bedside roles.
How can I get a nurse practitioner or physician assistant job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is a new-graduate residency or fellowship program, with Emory Healthcare and Grady Health System among the institutions that run structured advanced practice provider programs. Entry-level candidates also find footing through urgent care networks and federally qualified health centers, which hire more broadly and offer mentored caseloads. Completing a clinical rotation at an Atlanta facility and converting that relationship into a hire is a proven local strategy.
Which industries hire the most nurse practitioner or physician assistants in Atlanta?
Atlanta nurse practitioner or physician assistant roles concentrate in Education and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Atlanta's status as a regional hub for large hospital networks, insurance and managed care headquarters, and a growing telehealth sector drives consistent demand for advanced practice providers across all of those segments.
