Nursing Jobs in Charlotte: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a nursing job in Charlotte?
Charlotte's largest employers are its major hospital systems and outpatient networks, so targeting those directly gives you the widest access to openings. Roles concentrate in University City, Midtown, and the Ballantyne corridor. Candidates with acute care or specialty experience in ICU, ED, or oncology tend to move quickly through Charlotte hiring pipelines. Applying directly through employer career portals alongside job board listings improves your chances of early review.
Which companies hire nursings in Charlotte?
Companies currently hiring nursings in Charlotte include Atrium Health, Novant Health, and Brookdale Senior Living, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Charlotte's nursing employer mix includes large integrated health systems, freestanding specialty clinics, and a growing number of urgent care and home health organizations expanding across the metro.
Are there remote nursing jobs in Charlotte?
Yes, though remote work is limited for most clinical nursing roles given hands-on patient care requirements. About 0% of nursing openings tied to Charlotte are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in utilization review, case management, and telehealth triage positions. Charlotte's health systems and insurance-adjacent employers are the most common sources of those remote-eligible roles.
How can I get a nursing job in Charlotte with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Charlotte is a new graduate residency program, offered by the city's major hospital systems for RNs who recently completed licensure. Positions in long-term care facilities and home health agencies in neighborhoods like Steele Creek and Eastland tend to have lower experience thresholds than acute care floors. Listing clinical rotation hours and any CNA or patient care tech background strengthens applications for entry-level Charlotte postings.
Which industries hire the most nursings in Charlotte?
Charlotte nursing roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Charlotte's continued population growth and its status as a regional medical hub have expanded both acute care capacity and outpatient infrastructure, sustaining broad hiring demand across those sectors.
