Mid Level Occupational Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level occupational therapist job?
Position yourself by leading with clinical autonomy and outcomes rather than task lists. Highlight cases where you managed a caseload independently, adapted treatment plans without prompting, or contributed to program decisions. Emphasize any specialization you have built, such as pediatrics, hand therapy, or neurorehabilitation, and show concrete results from your patient work to stand out from early-career applicants.
Which companies hire mid level occupational therapists?
Companies hiring mid level occupational therapists right now include Emory Healthcare, Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, and The Fedcap, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers hospital systems, outpatient rehabilitation practices, school districts, and home health agencies, all of which typically need clinicians who can carry a full caseload without close supervision.
Are there remote mid level occupational therapist jobs?
Yes, though most occupational therapist roles still require in-person patient contact. About 3% of mid level occupational therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, covering areas like telehealth consultations, care coordination, and clinical documentation roles that don't require direct hands-on treatment every shift.
How do I move up to a mid level occupational therapist role?
Growth from entry level to mid level comes from accumulating meaningful clinical responsibility over time. Focus on deepening your skills in one or two practice areas, volunteering for more complex cases, and demonstrating that you can work without close supervision. Taking on small mentorship duties, contributing to department initiatives, and building a record of measurable patient outcomes signals readiness for mid level work.
Which industries hire the most mid level occupational therapists?
Mid Level occupational therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the mid level because they need clinicians experienced enough to manage varied caseloads independently, support interdisciplinary teams, and deliver consistent outcomes without requiring heavy day-to-day oversight.
