Mid Level Psychologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level psychologist job?
Position yourself around clinical ownership: highlight assessments you conducted independently, treatment plans you designed, and outcomes you tracked and adjusted. Tailor your application to show depth in a specialty such as cognitive behavioral therapy, neuropsychology, or health psychology. Employers at this level want to see that you can manage a full caseload, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to program quality without step-by-step supervision.
Which companies hire mid level psychologists?
Companies hiring mid level psychologists right now include Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Behavioral Framework, and The University of Kansas Health System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of health systems, behavioral health groups, government agencies, academic medical centers, and private group practices seeking practitioners who can work with clinical autonomy.
Are there remote mid level psychologist jobs?
Yes, telehealth has expanded remote options significantly for licensed practitioners. About 6% of mid level psychologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the strongest demand in outpatient counseling, employee assistance programs, and behavioral health platforms. State licensure requirements still apply, so confirm where each employer needs you to hold an active license before applying.
How do I move up to a mid level psychologist role?
Growth from entry level to mid level comes from accumulating independent clinical hours, earning full licensure, and taking on increasingly complex cases without close oversight. Building a defined specialty, contributing to program evaluation or research, and demonstrating measurable client outcomes over time are the markers employers look for. Seeking supervision from experienced clinicians and taking on mentorship or training responsibilities within your team also signals readiness for mid level expectations.
Which industries hire the most mid level psychologists?
