As an Experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist and independent contractor, you’ll help children build skills for everyday activities, participation, and independence. You’ll assess each child’s needs, develop individualized care plans, and deliver evidence-based pediatric occupational therapy. Work may involve collaboration with families, educators, and other care professionals across clinical or school settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop, implement, and update treatment plans and programs.
- Support children with activities of daily living (ADLs), disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other neurodevelopmental needs.
- Document care accurately in clinical records and electronic health records (EHR); communicate progress and coordinate case management and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Collaborate with families, students, special education teams, and interprofessional partners, including speech therapy providers.
- Your impact: By tailoring therapy to each child’s needs, you help children and their support teams work toward greater participation in daily routines.
Skills
- Required: Occupational therapy experience, including pediatric occupational therapy; strong client communication; medical and clinical documentation; and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Required: Ability to develop care plans and treatment plans, provide patient care, and apply evidence-based practice.
