The Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor role within University Hospitals Behavioral Health offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and significantly assists individuals with various issues.
We currently offer an opportunity for a full time, days LPCC to support patients in Cleveland.

What You Will Do
- Provide intake evaluations and outpatient therapy services including intake evaluations, individuals, couples, family therapy, potential for group therapy within community at University Hospitals satellite offices.
- Communicates/collaborates with the team using a multidisciplinary approach
- Understands and follow policies and procedures regarding referrals to relevant hospital services - Intensive Outpatient Program, Inpatient, Electro-convulsive Therapy
- Collaborates and consults with multidisciplinary team within the Mood Disorders Program
- Maintain patient records in accordance with UH standards
- Assist with organizational development and relationship management with relevant referral sources
- Periodically participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's Degree in clinical/community counseling (Required)
Work Experience
- Hospital/Health Agency experience (Preferred) and
- 3+ years Experience as LPCC (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills (Required proficiency)
- Familiarity with community support agency resources (Required proficiency)

- Personal computer skills (Required proficiency)
- Theoretical and clinical knowledge regarding health care delivery (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of Ohio (Required)
Position Details/Preferred Qualifications
This outpatient LPCC will be seeing adult patients with various mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc. Previous experience working with this patient population is strongly preferred. Must be proficient in performing diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, documentation, etc. Knowledge of Epic is a plus. Hours are 9:00am-5:00pm but has the option to work until 6:00/6:30p if there is a desire to lead a group session (i.e. long-haul Covid, disordered eating, etc.).
