Entry Level Oncology Registered Nurse Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level oncology registered nurse job?
Entry level oncology registered nurse employers look for an active RN license, completion of an accredited nursing program, and any hands-on oncology exposure from clinicals or internships. Candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with chemotherapy protocols, patient education, and symptom management stand out at this stage. Tailoring your resume to oncology-specific skills and applying to hospitals with dedicated new grad residency programs strengthens your chances significantly.
Which companies hire entry level oncology registered nurses?
Companies hiring entry level oncology registered nurses right now include Emory Healthcare, Voyage Health, and American Traveler, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to concentrate in health systems, cancer centers, and outpatient infusion clinics that run structured new graduate residency or orientation programs designed to build oncology-specific clinical skills from the ground up.
Are there remote entry level oncology registered nurse jobs?
Yes, though most oncology nursing roles at the entry level are clinical and on-site. About 5% of entry level oncology registered nurse openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve telephonic triage, care coordination, or oncology case management rather than direct bedside care. Remote options expand as you build experience in the specialty.
Are these new grad oncology registered nurse jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior oncology registered nurse roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts clinical rotations or internships in lieu of paid work history, or offers a formal residency program. Searching for roles that mention "new grad" or "graduate nurse" in the description helps identify the most accessible openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level oncology registered nurses?
Entry Level oncology registered nurse roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they operate high patient volumes, run structured orientation programs for new graduates, and have ongoing demand for oncology-trained nurses as cancer treatment continues to expand across inpatient and outpatient settings.
