Operating Room Technician Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an operating room technician job in Jacksonville?
The strongest path into operating room technician work in Jacksonville runs through the city's large health systems, multi-specialty surgical centers along the Southside corridor, and the outpatient surgery facilities expanding into the Beaches and Mandarin areas. Candidates who hold CST certification and have logged hands-on scrub hours in general or orthopedic surgery stand out locally. Applying directly to hospital networks that operate multiple Jacksonville campuses gives you the broadest shot at openings.
Which companies hire operating room technicians in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring operating room technicians in Jacksonville right now include Mayo Clinic, HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, and Voyage Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's market is anchored by large regional health systems running multiple campuses alongside a growing number of freestanding ambulatory surgical centers serving the city's expanding suburban communities.
How can I get an operating room technician job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Jacksonville is a surgical technologist externship or new-grad placement through one of the city's hospital systems, several of which partner with local accredited programs to pipeline graduates directly into OR teams. Targeting smaller freestanding surgical centers in Southside or the Northside industrial medical corridor can also work, as these facilities sometimes hire candidates who are CST-eligible and awaiting exam results, especially for orthopedic or general surgery caseloads.
Which industries hire the most operating room technicians in Jacksonville?
Most operating room technician openings in Jacksonville sit in Education and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's role as a regional healthcare hub, with a large military-adjacent medical presence at NAS Jacksonville and continued expansion of ambulatory surgery capacity across its suburban corridors, keeps demand across those sectors consistently active.
