How do I get a operating room technician job in Madison?
Your strongest path in Madison is targeting its large hospital systems and the growing cluster of outpatient and ambulatory surgery centers near the University Avenue corridor and Fitchburg. Candidates with surgical technologist certification and experience in orthopedic, cardiac, or robotic-assisted procedures tend to stand out most in this market. Remote work is rare for operating room technicians, since the role is almost entirely hands-on and requires direct presence in the surgical suite. About 0% of operating room technician openings tied to Madison are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to cover scheduling coordination or surgical supply and inventory roles rather than direct patient care.
How can I get a operating room technician job in Madison with little or no experience?

Central sterile processing technician roles at Madison's larger facilities are a strong lateral entry, giving you OR exposure that positions you for a direct tech role within one to two years.
