ABOUT THE ROLE
We just launched Pika - Social AI Video! a viral new app (think TikTok powered by AI). With just a selfie + prompt, you can instantly create stunning, realistic videos.
We’re looking for UGC content creators and artists to help set the tone of Pika by making content that inspires others to create, remix, and share.
You do not have to have experience creating AI-content. We are looking for content creators who are active on TikTok and Instagram, actively create content, and are comfortable speaking directly to the camera and/or have a creative eye for developing new viral templates.
This is a remote, paid opportunity.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create and post original Pika videos each week (shared on TikTok/IG and/or within the app itself)
- Experiment with prompts and showcase the newest features in fun, scroll-stopping ways
- Shape the look, feel, and trends of content on Pika
- Help spark engagement and remixes across the community
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience creating content for TikTok and Instagram Reels
- Strong creative instincts — you know what works, what’s fresh, and what catches attention
- Visual storytelling skills (hooks, pacing, aesthetics, or comedic timing)
- Openness to try new content creation tools (no AI experience required)
- Consistency and reliability in posting content each week

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Content Producer
Align your degree to the role
Content Producer positions require a clear connection between your degree and the job duties. Communications, journalism, film, marketing, and digital media degrees map cleanly. Hiring managers and USCIS both look for this alignment when evaluating OPT eligibility for the role.
Target employers who regularly hire international talent
Media companies, creative agencies, and in-house brand teams at larger corporations are more likely to have experience with OPT work authorization. Smaller production shops may not, so filtering by employer size and industry early saves time in your search.
Build a portfolio that shows specialty occupation value
USCIS evaluates whether a role genuinely requires a degree. A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic content work, not just execution, strengthens both your job application and the case that your position qualifies as a specialty occupation for OPT purposes.
Understand which Content Producer roles are STEM-eligible
Standard Content Producer roles don't qualify for STEM OPT extension. However, roles with a significant data, UX, or technology component tied to a qualifying STEM degree may. Confirm your specific CIP code with your DSO before accepting an offer.
Report your employer to your DSO within 10 days
Once you accept a Content Producer offer, you must report your employer, job title, and start date to your Designated School Official within 10 days. Failing to report on time is an OPT compliance violation, even if your EAD is valid.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does a Content Producer role qualify for OPT work authorization?
Yes, most Content Producer positions qualify as specialty occupations under F-1 OPT, provided your degree is in a related field such as communications, journalism, marketing, film, or digital media. The key requirement is a direct connection between your academic background and the duties of the role. Generalist production roles with no degree requirement can create issues, so review the job description carefully before applying.
Can I work as a freelance or contract Content Producer on OPT?
Yes, OPT permits self-employment and contract work, but with conditions. You must work at least 20 hours per week, and the work must be directly related to your degree. Freelance Content Producers need to document their clients, projects, and hours carefully for DSO reporting. Multiple part-time contracts can be combined to meet the 20-hour threshold, but you must track each engagement separately.
Is a Content Producer role eligible for the STEM OPT 24-month extension?
Not in most cases. Standard Content Producer roles fall under communications or media, which are not STEM-designated fields. However, if your degree is in a qualifying STEM field such as computer science or information systems, and the role has a meaningful technical component, your DSO may confirm eligibility. Always verify your CIP code with your school before assuming you qualify for the extension.
How do I find Content Producer jobs that are open to OPT students?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for F-1 OPT students and filters Content Producer roles by visa sponsorship openness, saving you from applying to positions where OPT isn't accepted. Many employers don't advertise OPT compatibility in job postings, so using a platform designed around work authorization status is significantly more efficient than general job searching.
What happens to my OPT status if my Content Producer contract ends early?
You have a 60-day grace period from the end of your authorized employment to find a new position, leave the U.S., or change your immigration status. During this window, you cannot work. If you secure a new Content Producer role, report it to your DSO within 10 days of starting. Unemployment beyond 90 days total during your OPT period will terminate your authorization regardless of remaining EAD validity.
