Overview:
Full time 36 hours/week | Dayshift
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Necessary Skills:
- Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
- Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
