Pediatric Dentist Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pediatric dentist in Ohio?
To practice as a pediatric dentist in Ohio, you must hold an active license issued by the Ohio State Dental Board, which requires completing an accredited dental school program followed by a two-year accredited pediatric dentistry residency. After residency, candidates apply to the Dental Board for licensure and must pass the required clinical and written examinations. Board certification through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, while not mandatory, is expected by most Ohio hospital systems and group practices.
Which companies hire pediatric dentists in Ohio?
Employers hiring pediatric dentists in Ohio right now include Smile Brands, Blue Cloud Pediatric Surgery Centers, and DESORT STAFFING, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Ohio's combination of large pediatric hospital systems, federally qualified health centers, and growing multi-site dental group practices means consistent openings appear across both urban and suburban markets throughout the year.
Which Ohio cities have the most pediatric dentist jobs?
Bowling Green, Akron, and Toledo have the most pediatric dentist openings in Ohio right now. Columbus leads because of its concentration of large pediatric health systems and group dental practices, while Cleveland's medical corridor and Cincinnati's strong hospital network drive demand in those markets, with suburban growth in surrounding counties also generating consistent openings at private and community clinics.
Are there remote pediatric dentist jobs in Ohio?
Yes, but they're rare. Pediatric dentistry is an inherently hands-on, chairside specialty, so the overwhelming majority of roles require full on-site presence in a clinic or hospital setting. About 0% of pediatric dentist openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to involve tele-dentistry consultations, administrative or clinical director oversight, or public health program coordination rather than direct patient care.
How can I get hired as a pediatric dentist in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to general practice residency or pediatric dentistry residency programs at Ohio's major academic medical centers, including Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's in Cleveland, which regularly accept new dental graduates. Candidates who complete an Ohio-based residency are well-positioned to move directly into associate pediatric dentist roles at community health centers or group practices. Holding an Ohio Dental Board license and ABPD board eligibility before applying gives new graduates a clear competitive edge over candidates still awaiting credentialing.
Where can I find and apply to pediatric dentist jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to pediatric dentist jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state right now. Find the roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that match.
