Tips for Your Peoplesoft Developer Job Search
Tailor your resume to modules
List each PeopleSoft module you've worked in, HCM, Financials, Campus Solutions, as a dedicated section, not buried in a skills list. Hiring managers scan for specific module experience before reading anything else on a peoplesoft developer resume.
Highlight your PeopleTools version experience
Employers often specify a minimum PeopleTools version in job postings. Call out the versions you've worked with directly in your summary and experience bullets so your resume clears automated screening before a recruiter reads it.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists peoplesoft developer openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match your module and tools experience and apply directly to each listing.
Filter for upgrade and implementation projects
Many openings distinguish between steady-state support roles and active upgrade or implementation projects. Target postings that mention PeopleTools upgrades or new module rollouts, those positions typically offer broader scope and stronger long-term demand.
Prepare a technical walkthrough for interviews
Peoplesoft developer interviews almost always include a live or whiteboard walkthrough of a customization you built. Have a clean example ready, preferably one involving Application Engine, SQR, or Component Interface, that you can explain from business requirement through testing and deployment.
Negotiate on contract duration and remote terms
A large share of peoplesoft developer roles are contract or contract-to-hire. Before accepting, confirm the contract length, renewal likelihood, and whether on-site requirements apply during go-live phases, since those conditions often differ from the day-to-day arrangement.
Peoplesoft Developer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most peoplesoft developers?
The companies hiring the most peoplesoft developers right now include BV Teck, CACI International, and Metropolitan Transportation Authority, with the largest share of openings in New York, Virginia, and Florida, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Universities, large health systems, and state government agencies consistently drive the highest volume of postings.
How many peoplesoft developer jobs are remote?
About 79% of peoplesoft developer openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, though on-site requirements tend to increase during go-live and upgrade phases. Integration and reporting-focused roles, such as those centered on Application Engine or SQR, are the most likely to remain fully remote after initial onboarding.
How do you become a peoplesoft developer?
Start with a foundation in a programming language and relational databases, then pursue formal PeopleSoft training through Oracle University, covering PeopleCode and PeopleTools fundamentals. Build hands-on experience by working in a supported sandbox environment or taking a junior role on an implementation project. Specializing in a high-demand module like HCM or Financials early on makes you more competitive for your first mid-level posting.
Can you get hired as a peoplesoft developer with little experience?
Yes, entry-level peoplesoft developer roles exist, particularly at consulting firms running large implementation projects that need associates to handle configuration, testing, and documentation. Completing Oracle's PeopleSoft training courses and earning a certification demonstrates baseline competence when you lack direct production experience. Targeting roles that mention configuration or functional support alongside development gives you the best path in without a long work history.
What does the peoplesoft developer interview process look like?
Most processes involve an initial recruiter screen, a technical phone interview covering PeopleCode logic and module-specific scenarios, and a final round that includes a practical exercise or whiteboard walkthrough of a customization you've built. Some employers add a SQL or Application Engine coding test. Government and higher education employers often add a structured panel interview as a final step before extending an offer.
Where can I find and apply to peoplesoft developer jobs?
You can find and apply to peoplesoft developer jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search for roles that match your module experience and PeopleTools version, then apply directly to each listing that fits.
