Entry Level Pharmacist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level pharmacist job?
Entry level pharmacist employers look for candidates who have completed their PharmD, passed the NAPLEX and MPJE licensing exams, and can point to meaningful clinical rotations or internship experience. Tailoring your application to the specific setting, whether retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy, and highlighting patient counseling or dispensing experience from rotations gives you a clear edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level pharmacists?
Companies hiring entry level pharmacists right now include CVS Health, Walgreens, and Walmart, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of retail pharmacy chains, health systems, hospital networks, and independent community pharmacies actively onboarding new graduates.
Are there remote entry level pharmacist jobs?
Yes, though most pharmacist roles are on-site given patient care responsibilities. About 1% of entry level pharmacist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be in telepharmacy, medication therapy management, or prior authorization review rather than traditional dispensing roles.
Are these new grad pharmacist jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior pharmacist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts clinical rotations or internships toward its requirements, or explicitly invites candidates who are newly licensed. New grad candidates should look for those signals in the job description before applying.
Which industries hire the most entry level pharmacists?
Entry Level pharmacist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Retail, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they maintain high prescription volume, require consistent staffing across locations, and have structured onboarding programs suited to newly licensed pharmacists.
