What you’ll do

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescriptions.
• Provide outstanding patient service by addressing inquiries, educating patients on medication use, and offering guidance on health-related questions.
• Perform intake processes, including verifying patient information and medication history to ensure comprehensive care.
• Utilize aseptic technique during IV infusion preparation to maintain safety and sterility standards.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory management within the pharmacy system.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings to optimize medication therapies for patients with complex needs.
• Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy practices to enhance communication with medical staff and patients alike.
• Participate in continuous education and training opportunities to further develop your pharmacy technician skills.

Basic qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a hospital or long-term care (LTC) pharmacy setting.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in critical care environments or acute care settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to pharmacology and patient care processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional patient service.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
