Radiologic Technologist Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a radiologic technologist in New York?
You must hold a New York State license issued by the New York State Department of Health, Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners before practicing independently. To qualify, you need to complete an accredited radiologic technology program, which is typically a two-year associate degree, and pass the ARRT examination in radiography. New York does not accept licensure by reciprocity from other states, so out-of-state technologists must apply directly to the state board.
How much do radiologic technologists make in New York?
Radiologic technologists in New York earn a median of about $98,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,540 for the lowest 10% to over $129,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire radiologic technologists in New York?
Employers hiring radiologic technologists in New York right now include NYU Langone Health, Trinity Health, and Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of academic medical centers, large health systems, and independent outpatient imaging groups means openings appear across a wide range of employer types and settings throughout the state.
Which New York cities have the most radiologic technologist jobs?
The cities with the most radiologic technologist openings in New York are New York, Albany, and Brooklyn. New York City dominates by volume given its size and the presence of major academic medical centers, while cities like Buffalo and Albany generate steady demand through regional hospital systems and affiliated outpatient facilities that serve large surrounding populations.
Are there remote radiologic technologist jobs in New York?
Yes, but they are rare. Radiologic technology is a hands-on clinical role that requires operating imaging equipment and working directly with patients, which limits remote opportunities by nature. About 0% of radiologic technologist openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles are almost entirely limited to teleradiology support or quality assurance review positions rather than direct patient imaging.
How can I get hired as a radiologic technologist in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to new-graduate positions at large New York health systems like Northwell Health or NYC Health and Hospitals, both of which regularly onboard candidates coming directly from accredited programs. Clinical rotation hours completed in New York facilities carry real weight, and having your New York State license in hand before applying removes a common barrier. Candidates from adjacent roles such as radiology aide or patient transporter who have completed their ARRT exam also have a practical route into entry-level imaging positions.
Where can I find and apply to radiologic technologist jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to radiologic technologist jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Find roles that match your credentials and experience, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
