Entry Level Phlebotomist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level phlebotomist job?
Most entry level phlebotomist roles require a phlebotomy certification from an accredited program, such as NPA or ASCP, plus documented venipuncture draws completed during training. Employers at this level look for candidates who completed a clinical externship, demonstrate calm patient-facing skills, and hold a current CPR certification. A detailed draw-count log from your training program gives you a concrete edge over uncertified applicants.
Which companies hire entry level phlebotomists?
Companies hiring entry level phlebotomists right now include Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp, and Grifols, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hospitals, independent laboratory networks, blood donation centers, and outpatient diagnostic clinics are the employer types most likely to post roles that explicitly welcome new or recently certified candidates.
Are there remote entry level phlebotomist jobs?
Yes, though remote work is limited for a hands-on clinical role. About 0% of entry level phlebotomist openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those postings typically cover mobile phlebotomy coordination, patient scheduling, or telehealth-support functions rather than direct blood draw work.
Are these new grad phlebotomist jobs?
Yes. The listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior phlebotomist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it lists zero to two years of experience as acceptable, counts externship or clinical training hours toward requirements, or explicitly welcomes candidates who have just completed a certification program. Look for phrases like "recent grads encouraged" or "training provided" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level phlebotomists?
Entry Level phlebotomist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because high patient or donor volume creates consistent demand for certified collectors who can be onboarded quickly through structured orientation programs.
