Physical Therapy Assistant Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a physical therapy assistant in Colorado?
To become a physical therapy assistant in Colorado, you must complete an associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited program, pass the National Physical Therapy Examination for PTAs administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, and apply for licensure through the Colorado Physical Therapy Board. Colorado requires active licensure before you may practice. The board also requires continuing education for license renewal every two years.
Which companies hire physical therapy assistants in Colorado?
Colorado physical therapy assistant roles are posted by Rehab Employee Services, Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, and Adaptive Home Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's mix of large integrated health systems, independent outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities means consistent openings across the Front Range and into mountain communities year-round.
Which Colorado cities have the most physical therapy assistant jobs?
Colorado Springs, Denver, and Westminster have the most physical therapy assistant openings in Colorado. Denver's concentration of hospital systems, outpatient networks, and academic medical centers drives the largest share of postings, while Colorado Springs and Fort Collins reflect steady demand from regional health systems and growing suburban populations with strong orthopedic and sports rehab needs.
Are there remote physical therapy assistant jobs in Colorado?
Yes, but they're rare. Physical therapy assistants work hands-on with patients, so nearly all positions require in-person attendance at a clinic, hospital, or care facility. About 0% of physical therapy assistant openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles are almost entirely limited to documentation, telehealth coordination, or administrative support functions rather than direct patient care.
How can I get hired as a physical therapy assistant in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to new-graduate positions at large Colorado health systems like UCHealth and Centura Health, which regularly onboard PTAs with no post-graduation experience and provide structured clinical mentorship. Candidates who worked as physical therapy aides, rehabilitation technicians, or personal trainers during their schooling have a clear advantage. Holding an active Colorado PTA license before applying and gaining clinical hours through your CAPTE program rotations at Colorado facilities are the credentials that open the most doors.
Where can I find and apply to physical therapy assistant jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to physical therapy assistant jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, specialty, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
