Physical Therapy Assistant Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physical therapy assistant job in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville's strongest hiring comes from its large hospital systems, outpatient orthopedic networks, and the growing number of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities concentrated in Southside, Mandarin, and the Northside health corridor. Candidates who hold an active Florida PTA license and have hands-on experience with electronic documentation systems stand out locally. Targeting multi-location outpatient groups that staff several Jacksonville-area clinics gives you the broadest exposure to open positions quickly.
Which companies hire physical therapy assistants in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring physical therapy assistants in Jacksonville include Keiser University, Brooks Rehabilitation, and Concentra, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's mix of large regional health systems, national outpatient therapy chains, and independently owned sports medicine clinics means there are openings across employer sizes and care settings throughout the metro.
Are there remote physical therapy assistant jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though remote opportunities are rare for physical therapy assistants because the role is inherently hands-on and requires in-person patient treatment. About 0% of physical therapy assistant openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting limited options. The remote-adjacent work that does exist locally tends to involve telehealth support coordination or administrative patient follow-up functions rather than direct clinical care.
How can I get a physical therapy assistant job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is securing a clinical affiliate or aide position at one of the city's outpatient orthopedic or sports rehab clinics, particularly in Southside or the Beaches corridor where smaller practices regularly hire support staff. Jacksonville's large senior care facilities and home health agencies also bring on entry-level PTAs for high-volume geriatric caseloads, which builds hands-on hours quickly. Completing clinical rotations at Jacksonville-area sites during your program strengthens local connections before you graduate.
Which industries hire the most physical therapy assistants in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville physical therapy assistant roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's status as one of Florida's largest cities, combined with its rapidly growing retiree population and active military presence at Naval Station Mayport and NAS Jacksonville, drives particularly strong demand across rehabilitation and long-term care settings.
