OB/GYN Physician Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ob/gyn physician in Florida?
Becoming an ob/gyn physician in Florida requires completing medical school, an ACGME-accredited four-year ob/gyn residency, and then applying for licensure through the Florida Board of Medicine. Applicants must pass all three steps of the USMLE or COMLEX and submit verification of training directly from their residency program. Board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, while not required for licensure, is expected by most Florida hospital employers before granting full clinical privileges.
Which companies hire ob/gyn physicians in Florida?
Employers hiring ob/gyn physicians in Florida right now include 77 Consultants, UF Health Shands Hospital, and Evara Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's large integrated health systems and regional hospital groups account for the majority of full-time positions, particularly in urban and suburban markets where patient volume supports dedicated women's health service lines.
Which Florida cities have the most ob/gyn physician jobs?
The Florida cities with the most ob/gyn physician openings are Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Saint Petersburg. This distribution follows the state's population centers, where large academic medical centers and multi-hospital systems generate the highest patient volume for obstetrics and gynecologic care, and where health networks are large enough to support specialized sub-practices in maternal-fetal medicine and gynecologic oncology.
Are there remote ob/gyn physician jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Ob/gyn is a hands-on clinical specialty that requires direct patient contact for deliveries, procedures, and examinations, so fully remote positions are uncommon. About 33% of ob/gyn physician openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those that exist tend to be administrative, telehealth consultation, or utilization management roles rather than full clinical practice.
How can I get hired as a ob/gyn physician in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to newly licensed physician programs or first-year attending positions at Florida's large academic systems such as UF Health, University of Miami Health System, and Tampa General Hospital, all of which routinely recruit physicians immediately following residency. Securing Florida Board of Medicine licensure before your residency end date, completing board exams early, and obtaining letters of recommendation from program faculty give candidates a meaningful edge. Locum tenens placements with Florida-based staffing groups also offer a way to build attending experience while pursuing a permanent role.
Where can I find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Florida employers. Find the roles that fit your training, preferred location, and practice setting, then apply directly to each one.
