OB/GYN Physician Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ob/gyn physician in Indiana?
To practice as an ob/gyn physician in Indiana, you must hold an active medical license issued by the Indiana Medical Licensing Board, which requires graduation from an accredited medical school, completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency, and passing the USMLE or COMLEX licensing exams. Board certification through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology is not legally required but is expected by most Indiana hospital systems and group practices before granting privileges.
How much do OB/GYN physicians make in Indiana?
OB/GYN physicians in Indiana earn a median of about $351,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $70,720 for the lowest 10% to over $394,190 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ob/gyn physicians in Indiana?
Indiana ob/gyn physician roles are posted by 77 Consultants, Ascension, and DrHouse and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indiana's hiring is especially concentrated among large integrated health systems that operate labor and delivery units, outpatient women's health clinics, and affiliated academic training programs across the state.
Which Indiana cities have the most ob/gyn physician jobs?
Indianapolis, South Bend, and Kokomo have the most ob/gyn physician openings in Indiana. Indianapolis anchors the largest share of demand as the state's population and academic medicine hub, with Indiana University Health and other major systems headquartered there, while Fort Wayne and South Bend reflect strong regional health systems serving concentrated populations in the state's northern corridor.
Are there remote ob/gyn physician jobs in Indiana?
Yes, but they're rare. OB/GYN physicians perform hands-on clinical care, surgical procedures, and deliveries that require physical presence, making fully remote roles uncommon. About 25% of ob/gyn physician openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and the positions that do carry any remote component typically involve telehealth gynecology consultations or administrative roles like utilization review or medical directing.
How can I get hired as a ob/gyn physician in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path for a physician with no independent practice experience is applying directly to Indiana residency or fellowship programs, or targeting new-physician roles at Indiana University Health, Ascension St. Vincent, or Parkview Health, which regularly recruit physicians completing residency into employed positions. Hospitalist-style laborist roles at Indiana community hospitals offer another entry point, requiring only licensure and residency completion with no prior attending experience expected.
Where can I find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to ob/gyn physician jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the available roles, identify the ones that fit your credentials and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
