Job Summary and Qualifications
The physical therapy assistant, under the general supervision of the physical therapist, is responsible for the treatment of a wide variety of patients, including, but not limited to patients with: neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and other medical conditions in the areas of acute, subacute, rehabilitation and out patient physical therapy.
The physical therapy assistant is responsible for the development and implementation of physical therapy treatment procedures, modalities, therapeutic exercise and progressive mobility training. The physical therapy assistant must treat patients in accordance with the rules and regulations of this facility, the Physical Therapy Practice Act, and the State of Nevada, Board of Professional Regulations.
The physical therapy assistant must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and interpret data reflective of the patients' medical status and age specific needs, in order to provide the appropriate care, as described in the department's policies and procedures. The physical therapy assistant will provide goal directed treatment program imple entation and modification, as well as related documentation and communication for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, without regard to race, color, sex , religion, or national origin.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a licensed physical therapy assistant program approved by American Physical Therapy Association.
- Maintain licensure by the State of Nevada as determined by the Nevada State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- One to two years’ experience in clinical setting preferred.
- Entry level graduates will be considered.
- Documentation, communication, treatment planning, related equipment
- State of Nevada licensure required
