YOUR ROLE AT CLOROX:
The Plant Process Engineer leads the hourly Operational Excellence team and drives process improvement initiatives across the Amherst plant. This role plays a key part in supporting daily operations by strengthening Safety, Quality, and Production performance through Manufacturing Excellence systems. The engineer will learn plant processes, partner with cross‑functional teams, and implement structured problem‑solving, governance, and continuous improvement practices to enhance overall operational capability.
In this role, you will:
- Lead a team of four to drive operational excellence across the facility, ensuring consistent performance, accountability, and alignment with plant objectives.
- Own and execute project governance for loss elimination and continuous improvement by leading key initiatives, coaching cross‑functional partners, and reinforcing disciplined execution.
- Support change management and Operational Readiness efforts to enable smooth implementation of new processes, systems, and standards.
- Develop, refine, and execute core operational processes, including Project Governance, Daily Problem Solving (DPS), Short Interval Control (SIC), troubleshooting guide optimization, Clean‑Inspect‑Lubricate (CIL), Centerlines, QC auditing standards, Operational Readiness, and Skill Block progression.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and direction to teams to strengthen problem‑solving capability and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in and contribute to Plant Operations meetings as part of Leader Standard Work (LSW), ensuring consistent communication and alignment.
- Build expertise in the TRACC platform and train others to effectively navigate and apply its tools for operational maturity.
- Understand how to utilize our systems (MES, EWM, SAP) to enable our workforce.
- Learn and document plant processes, collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and translate insights into scalable best practices.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, ensuring clarity, alignment, and engagement.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in Related Field (Business, Engineering, etc.).
- Have 2+ years Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Data Management Experience (or like experience).
- Be Microsoft Applications Proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support process‑related projects—including equipment upgrades, new technology implementations, and system improvements—while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Be able to work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to identify process bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement best practices.
- Preferred experience with Manufacturing Trials, Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, TRACC, and Power BI.

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $72,400 - $132,500
–Zone B: $66,400 - $121,500
–Zone C: $60,300 - $110,400

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
