As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The Equipment Supply Chain (ESC) team is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain management of critical equipment and materials for Google's data centers. Procurement Operations is a key function within ESC, ensuring that equipment is purchased and delivered to sites efficiently, cost-effectively, and predictably. This team works closely with Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Planning, Delivery, and Site Execution teams.You will lead strategic programs and initiatives within the Equipment Supply Chain (ESC) Procurement Operations team.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving significant improvements in the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of procurement processes for Google's data center builds. You will own complex, cross-functional programs from conception through implementation, ensuring on-time delivery of critical infrastructure. This role requires a blend of program management expertise, technical understanding, supply chain knowledge, and strong leadership skills to influence stakeholders across various organizations.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Define, lead, and execute large-scale, complex strategic programs to transform and optimize ESC's procurement operations. Develop program charters, define scope, set objectives, and actively manage timelines and resources.
- Identify and analyze breakdowns and inefficiencies in existing procurement processes. Design and implement new, scalable processes, tools, and automation solutions to improve operational excellence, reduce cycle times, minimize risk, and lower costs.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for key procurement operations functions, such as purchase order lifecycle management, supplier onboarding and enablement, contract compliance, and procure-to-pay processes.
- Apply a sound technical understanding of the equipment being procured and the systems used (e.g., ERP, procurement platforms) to inform process design and guide program decisions. Define, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for procurement operations.
- Identify potential risks and obstacles within procurement operations and develop mitigation strategies.
