Product Development Intern Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product development intern in Utah?
The most direct path is enrolling in a business, engineering, industrial design, or computer science program at a Utah university, such as the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, or Utah Valley University, then applying to internship programs during your junior or senior year. No state-issued license is required for product development internships. Building a portfolio of class projects, personal prototypes, or open-source contributions significantly strengthens applications with Utah employers.
Which companies hire product development interns in Utah?
Companies currently hiring product development interns in Utah include University of Utah, Intermountain Health, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's dense concentration of technology firms and consumer product companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor means structured internship programs are common and cycle through most semesters.
Which Utah cities have the most product development intern jobs?
Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Ogden account for the largest share of product development intern openings in Utah. Salt Lake City draws the most roles because of its headquarters density and established tech sector, while Provo and Lehi benefit from the Silicon Slopes cluster of fast-growing software and SaaS companies that run recurring internship cohorts throughout the year.
Are there remote product development intern jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than many fields, since product development intern work is often desk-based and tool-driven. About 25% of product development intern openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in the software and digital product space. User research and product analytics components tend to be the most remote-compatible, while hardware prototyping and lab-based roles remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a product development intern in Utah with little or no experience?
Apply directly to internship cohort programs at large Utah employers like Adobe, Domo, or health technology companies in the Salt Lake corridor, which are specifically designed for candidates without prior industry experience. Roles such as business analyst intern, UX research assistant, or product operations coordinator are common entry points. A portfolio demonstrating a class capstone, personal app concept, or process improvement project gives you a concrete edge over candidates with a blank resume.
Where can I find and apply to product development intern jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to product development intern jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and schedule, and apply directly through each listing without needing to sign up first.
