Who We Are / The Team
Bloomberg’s CTO Office is the future-looking technical and product arm of Bloomberg L.P. We envision, design, and prototype the next generation infrastructure, hardware, and applications for the Bloomberg Terminal. Our projects include machine learning-powered products, cloud computing infrastructure and strategy, open source stewardship, generative AI, and more. We are passionate about what we do.
At Bloomberg, we put our users first. The world is always changing, and so are the ways people interact with data. We need product leaders who thrive in dynamic environments - building products and platforms that power global financial markets and enable innovation across industries.
The Data Activation group, part of the Data & Analytics division in the Office of the CTO, is responsible for connecting Bloomberg’s data systems to customer outcomes, both internal and external. This pillar brings together data, AI, APIs, and developer experience to ensure that Bloomberg’s vast data assets can be discovered, accessed, and activated seamlessly. Our remit spans integrations with the Bloomberg Terminal, first- and third-party API platforms, external developer ecosystems, AI/ML applications, and BQL (Bloomberg’s query language) that enables programmatic access to data.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Product Management Lead to head the Data Activation pillar — a senior leadership role within the Data & Analytics group, reporting into the CTO organization. This leader will manage a multidisciplinary team of product managers, data scientists, technical writers, and developer relations professionals focused on enabling data-driven innovation and empowering customers — both inside and outside Bloomberg — to build on top of our data.
You’ll define and execute a product strategy that connects Bloomberg’s internal data capabilities to real-world user experiences and outcomes. From shaping APIs and programmatic interfaces, to enabling AI and analytics use cases, to empowering external developers - you’ll drive the “last mile” of data activation across the company’s most strategic surfaces.
This is a unique opportunity to build and scale a product function that sits at the intersection of data, AI, and developer experience, influencing how Bloomberg delivers data intelligence to the world.
We’ll Trust You To
- Define and deliver a compelling product vision and roadmap for how Bloomberg’s data is activated and experienced — across APIs, the Terminal, AI platforms, and developer ecosystems.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of product managers, developer advocates, and data-focused specialists — fostering a culture of customer obsession, technical excellence, and collaboration.
- Partner across engineering, AI research, and product teams to align on strategy and deliver seamless data access experiences that serve diverse user personas (developers, quants, analysts, researchers).
- Drive innovation in programmatic data access through BQL, APIs, SDKs, and integrations - enabling customers to embed Bloomberg data in their own workflows and applications, including emerging agentic AI use cases.
- Shape the external developer strategy, in partnership with engineering and business stakeholders, to extend the reach and impact of Bloomberg’s data platform through robust tools, documentation, and engagement programs.
- Define success metrics and KPIs, using data-driven insights to prioritize, measure adoption, and continuously improve the developer and data activation experience.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in data APIs, AI/ML integration, developer platforms, and data monetization to ensure Bloomberg remains at the forefront of data innovation.
You’ll Need To Have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in product management or related technical leadership roles, ideally within data, platform, or developer ecosystems.
- 5+ years of experience managing product teams and leading cross-disciplinary groups.
- Proven experience launching and scaling API or data platform products serving developers, analysts, or AI/ML practitioners.
- Strong understanding of data systems, APIs, and developer workflows, including knowledge of query languages and programmatic data access patterns.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex data and infrastructure capabilities into intuitive user-facing solutions.
- A track record of customer-centric product thinking and delivering outcomes that drive measurable impact.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical and business stakeholders around a shared vision.
We’d Love To See
- Master’s degree in a technical or business-related field.
- Experience building or scaling developer platforms or ecosystems.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools, APIs, and applied data products.
- Background in data science, data engineering, or software development.
- Demonstrable knowledge of financial markets.
- Deep curiosity about how data, AI, and APIs combine to unlock new possibilities for customers and the broader developer community.

Product Management Lead Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product management lead in New York?
There is no state-issued license or New York-specific certification required to work as a product management lead. The standard New York path starts with a bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, followed by several years as an individual contributor product manager at a startup, agency, or enterprise firm. Earning a Certified Product Manager credential from the Association of Product Professionals or a CSPO designation can strengthen your candidacy at larger New York employers, particularly in fintech and media.
Which companies hire product management leads in New York?
Employers hiring product management leads in New York right now include Citi, Genpact, and New York Life, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of fintech firms, global media companies, and enterprise technology headquarters means product leadership roles open consistently throughout the year across multiple verticals.
Which New York cities have the most product management lead jobs?
New York, Buffalo, and Manhattan have the most product management lead openings in New York. New York City dominates because it anchors the country's largest fintech, media, and enterprise SaaS ecosystems, while Albany draws openings tied to state government technology initiatives and healthcare organizations, and Buffalo's growing tech corridor generates demand at regional firms and remote-first companies with New York headquarters.
Are there remote product management lead jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 34% of product management lead openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work is documentation, stakeholder communication, and roadmap planning rather than on-site execution. Strategic and platform-focused product roles tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles tied to hardware, retail operations, or in-person user research are more likely to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a product management lead in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate or junior product manager role at a New York-based startup or mid-size firm, then building toward a lead title through demonstrated ownership of a feature area. Large New York employers like Verizon, Citigroup, and NBCUniversal run rotational or associate PM programs that accept candidates transitioning from business analysis, engineering, or UX design. Building a portfolio of side projects or open-source product artifacts and earning a CSPO credential will meaningfully improve your competitiveness for these programs.
Where can I find and apply to product management lead jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to product management lead jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated in real time. Find the roles that fit your experience and target industry, then apply directly to each one. No profile creation is needed to see and act on the listings.
