Most New York employers expect a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or social science field, and many larger firms, particularly in finance and consumer goods, prefer candidates who have completed relevant coursework in research methods or statistics. Building a portfolio of research projects, even from academic or freelance work, strengthens applications considerably in the competitive New York market.
How much do customer insights analysts make in New York?
Customer insights analysts in New York earn a median of about $98,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,070 for the lowest 10% to over $165,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire customer insights analysts in New York?

Which New York cities have the most customer insights analyst jobs?
New York, New York State, and White Plains account for the most customer insights analyst openings in New York. Manhattan drives the largest share because of its concentration of financial services firms, advertising agencies, and consumer brand headquarters, while outer-borough and suburban locations like White Plains reflect the research and analytics divisions that large corporations maintain just outside the city core.
