No state-issued license is required, but an MBA from a program with strong New York recruiting ties accelerates advancement into senior and client-facing positions. Building case interview skills and securing internships at New York-based firms or financial institutions is the most common path into the field.
How much do strategy consultants make in New York?

Which companies hire strategy consultants in New York?
Employers hiring strategy consultants in New York right now include PwC, Capgemini, and EY, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Which New York cities have the most strategy consultant jobs?
New York, Atlanta, and Albany have the most strategy consultant openings in New York. Manhattan leads because it is home to the largest concentration of global consulting firm offices, investment banks, and corporate headquarters in the country, while White Plains and other suburban markets reflect demand from healthcare systems and regional enterprise clients headquartered outside the five boroughs.
