Training Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a training manager in New York?
Most training manager roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, education, or a closely related field. New York does not issue a state license for this role, so employers rely heavily on credentials such as the ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development or SHRM certifications as differentiators. Candidates who build experience in instructional design, compliance training, or corporate L&D within New York's financial services or healthcare sectors are consistently the most competitive.
How much do training managers make in New York?
Training managers in New York earn a median of about $171,400 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $103,590 for the lowest 10% to over $280,850 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire training managers in New York?
Employers hiring training managers in New York right now include City University of New York, The Home Depot, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of financial institutions, hospital systems, and enterprise technology firms means demand for training managers is consistent year-round across a wide range of industries and company sizes.
Which New York cities have the most training manager jobs?
The cities with the most training manager openings in New York are New York, Brooklyn, and Buffalo. New York City dominates the distribution because of its outsized concentration of corporate headquarters, major hospital networks, and financial institutions, while Buffalo and Albany generate steady demand through healthcare systems, state government agencies, and regional corporate campuses that run their own learning and development functions.
Are there remote training manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than many management roles, particularly for training managers focused on e-learning design, LMS administration, or corporate curriculum development. About 34% of training manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the design and content work can be done off-site. Roles that require in-person facilitation, new-hire onboarding, or hands-on compliance training are more likely to be fully on-site.
How can I get hired as a training manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a training coordinator or instructional designer role first, then building toward a manager title. Large New York hospital systems such as Northwell Health and NYC Health and Hospitals hire training associates with limited experience, particularly candidates who hold an ATD certificate or have completed a graduate program in organizational development. Adjacent roles in HR generalist, operations, or corporate communications positions at New York financial firms also feed naturally into training functions.
Where can I find and apply to training manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to training manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across New York City, Buffalo, Albany, and surrounding areas. Search for roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
