Our Mission:
Our mission is to deliver premium sports, news and entertainment programming through a best-in-class user experience that offers greater choice, flexibility and value.
About the role:
This role is a New York City based HYBRID position. Candidates must be located in NYC, and willing to come into the office on a hybrid basis, three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
Fubo is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead our Content Intelligence & Discovery organization. This leader will oversee the technical "brain" of our platform, the systems that ingest, model, and intelligently surface content to millions of users.
Reporting to the CTO, you will lead a multi-disciplinary organization that sits at the intersection of high-scale systems engineering and applied machine learning. Your mission is to move beyond baseline heuristics toward sophisticated, high-performance algorithms while maintaining a "you build it, you run it" operational culture.
The teams:
- Search & Personalization: Our engine for user engagement. You will drive the roadmap to improve our ranking models, collaborative filtering, and semantic search. Your success is measured by the tangible improvement of discovery quality and user retention.
- Knowledge Graph: The foundation of our intelligence. This team builds the abstraction layers and semantic models that normalize massive amounts of metadata and real-time sports statistics into a unified, queryable internal graph.
- Video AI (Strategic Collaboration): You will partner closely with our India-based Video AI team to operationalize computer vision and NLP outputs, ensuring AI-driven enrichment is seamlessly integrated into the Knowledge Graph and SNP pipelines.
Tech stack:
- Languages: Go, Python, Scala, TypeScript
- Data Storage & Analytics: BigQuery, BigTable, GCS
- Stream & Batch Processing: Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, Apache Beam (Spotify Scio), Google Dataflow, Apache Airflow
- Search & ML Platform: Elasticsearch, Vertex AI
- Infrastructure & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Redis…
- Frontend (Internal Tooling): React, Vite, Material UI, Streamlit
Key Responsibilities:
- Algorithmic Innovation: Lead the transition to more advanced ML models for discovery. You will be responsible for the "precision and recall" of our systems, ensuring we connect users to the right content in milliseconds.
- AI-Accelerated Engineering: Act as a champion and mentor for the adoption of AI-assisted development (LLMs for coding, automated testing, and documentation). You will help the team integrate these tools into their daily workflows to increase velocity and code quality.
- Full-Cycle Operational Ownership: While you can leverage corporate infrastructure, your teams are responsible for the health of their own services. You will instill a culture of high availability, deep observability, and proactive "ops" management within the engineering teams.
- Systems Architecture: Oversee the design of resilient, low-latency data pipelines and APIs that can handle the massive scale of live-sports metadata and user-activity data.
- Global Execution: Synchronize technical roadmaps between your domestic teams and international partners, ensuring a cohesive strategy for AI-driven metadata enrichment.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- The "Bilingual" Leader: You are a seasoned systems engineer who is also fluent in Data Science. You can audit a Go/JVM-based backend architecture one hour and discuss the nuances of vector embeddings or ranking loss functions the next.
- Operational Rigor: You have experience running high-traffic production systems. You believe that an algorithm is only as good as its uptime and that engineers should be empowered to manage their own production environments.
- Product & Data Obsessed: You don't build for the sake of "cool tech." You are driven by metrics and you know how to translate those product needs into technical requirements.
- Leadership at Scale: You have a track record of scaling engineering organizations, mentoring managers, and fostering a culture of excellence in fast-paced environments.
Perks & Benefits:
- At Fubo, you will have the opportunity to personally influence what live media looks like after it goes through its next big transformation.
- Fubo provides a highly competitive compensation based on experience and market standards.
- Robust benefit package including Health/Dental/Vision coverage 401k, Life Insurance, and commuter benefits.
- Free Premium Fubo Account.
- Unlimited PTO days and regular company-wide activities.
- Fubo's main headquarters are located in Midtown Manhattan, with offices in Paris, and Bangalore.
- Fubo is an e-verified company.
Fubo's minimum base salary for this role if hired in New York City is $275,000 per year; maximum base salary for this role is $320,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fubo's equity plan, annual cash bonus plans, unlimited PTO, and a full range of medical benefits. The final offer amount will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations.

VP Of Engineering Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp of engineering in New York?
Becoming a vp of engineering in New York follows a career progression path rather than a state-issued license, since the role carries no New York-specific credential or registration requirement. Most candidates build toward the position by moving from senior individual contributor roles into engineering management, then to director, before stepping into a vice president seat. New York employers, particularly in fintech and enterprise software, weight hands-on leadership experience inside complex organizations heavily, and a master's degree in computer science or business administration can accelerate promotion timelines at firms headquartered in the city.
How much do VP of engineerings make in New York?
VP of engineerings in New York earn a median of about $175,710 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $128,500 for the lowest 10% to over $274,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire vp of engineerings in New York?
Employers hiring vp of engineerings in New York right now include New York Life, Bank of America, and Bank of China USA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of global financial institutions, media companies, and enterprise technology firms means demand for engineering leadership at the vice president level remains consistent across both headquartered corporations and the large regional offices of international technology companies.
Which New York cities have the most vp of engineering jobs?
The cities with the most vp of engineering openings in New York are New York. New York City dominates the distribution because it anchors the headquarters of major financial institutions, global media companies, and a dense startup ecosystem in Manhattan and Brooklyn that collectively generate most of the senior engineering leadership demand, while secondary markets like Rochester reflect IBM's long-standing engineering presence and Albany reflects state government technology investment.
Are there remote vp of engineering jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most senior leadership roles, since vp of engineering work centers on strategy, communication, and organizational oversight rather than physical presence. About 57% of vp of engineering openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting broader flexibility at the executive level across the technology sector. The portions of the role most likely to remain fully remote are engineering strategy, hiring decisions, and cross-functional roadmap planning, while board presentations and key leadership offsites typically require in-person attendance in New York City.
How can I get hired as a vp of engineering in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building engineering management experience at the director level before targeting vice president roles, since New York employers at firms like JPMorgan Chase, Verizon, and IBM rarely hire directly into a VP seat without proven team leadership. Candidates who move laterally from senior staff engineer or principal engineer roles into an engineering manager position, then demonstrate measurable outcomes like growing a team or shipping a platform migration, become competitive within a few years. Pursuing a management MBA through a New York institution such as Columbia Business School can further differentiate candidates targeting financial services or enterprise technology employers in the city.
Where can I find and apply to vp of engineering jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to vp of engineering jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, industry background, and preferred location within the state, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
