Product Development Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product development manager in New York?
Most product development manager roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a relevant technical discipline, followed by progressive experience in product management, product development, or a closely related function. No state-issued license is required for this role in New York. Candidates typically move up from associate product manager or project coordinator positions at New York-based consumer goods, pharmaceutical, or technology companies, and an MBA from a New York institution can accelerate advancement into senior roles.
Which companies hire product development managers in New York?
Employers hiring product development managers in New York right now include Amazon, Bloomberg, and Morgan Stanley, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major pharma and consumer brands makes it one of the deepest markets in the country for this role.
Which New York cities have the most product development manager jobs?
New York, Brooklyn, and New York City account for the most product development manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its density of corporate headquarters in consumer goods, media, finance, and tech, while Buffalo and Albany draw demand from manufacturing operations, state government-linked innovation programs, and regional healthcare and biotech employers that maintain dedicated product teams.
Are there remote product development manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than many management roles, since product development managers in desk-based industries like software, fintech, and digital consumer goods can perform most coordination and strategy work remotely. About 36% of product development manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting strong adoption across tech and consumer sectors. Roles tied to physical product lines in pharma or manufacturing tend to require more on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a product development manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an associate product manager or product coordinator role at a New York consumer goods, pharma, or tech company, then building toward a manager title over two to three years. Large New York employers like Pfizer and major CPG companies run rotational associate programs that place candidates without direct management experience into product functions. A portfolio demonstrating a launched product, a completed Agile certification, or a business degree from a New York university strengthens an entry-level application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to product development manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to product development manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to New York employers and locations. Search the listings to see roles that match your experience level and industry, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background.
