Who we are looking for
State Street is seeking a Managing Director to serve as the Global Head of Performance & Analytics Product Development. This role is responsible for defining and executing the global product development strategy for State Street’s Performance & Analytics product suite, ensuring that platform capabilities, technology modernization, and delivery outcomes support long‑term business strategy, client needs, and enterprise priorities. The role operates at a senior leadership level within the Product organization and partners closely with Product Management, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Commercial teams. The successful candidate will lead a globally distributed organization and play a key role in shaping the evolution of State Street’s analytics platforms in a complex, regulated, and client‑driven environment.

Product Development Strategy & Roadmap
- Own and lead the global product development strategy and roadmap for Performance & Analytics, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives, client outcomes, and competitive positioning.
- Translate product strategy into clear development priorities that balance innovation, platform resilience, scalability, and modernization of legacy capabilities.
- Drive architectural and platform decisions in partnership with Technology leadership, with a strong focus on data strategy and cloud‑based solutions.
Investment Prioritization & Financial Stewardship
- Lead the demand management and investment prioritization process for product development initiatives across annual and multi‑year planning horizons.
- Provide financial stewardship for the product development portfolio, ensuring disciplined use of resources and clear linkage between investment decisions and strategic value.
- Partner with Product, Finance, and Technology leaders to manage trade‑offs across initiatives, sequencing, and delivery capacity.
Delivery Oversight & Change Leadership
- Provide senior oversight of approved product development and change initiatives, ensuring delivery against agreed milestones, risk posture, and target‑state architecture.
- Lead complex, cross‑functional change programs, working closely with Global Delivery, Operations, and Risk partners to ensure solutions are scalable, controlled, and operationally viable.
- Drive rationalization of platforms and technologies where appropriate and enable seamless migration of clients from legacy solutions to strategic platforms.
Client, Market & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a senior Product representative in key client and prospect interactions where product capabilities, roadmaps, and strategic direction are critical.
- Establish strong executive‑level relationships across Product, Technology, Operations, and Commercial organizations to enable aligned decision‑making.
- Incorporate market and client insight into product development priorities to ensure State Street’s analytics offerings remain relevant and competitive.
Organizational & People Leadership
- Lead and develop a global product development organization, including senior product development leaders, product owners, and business analysts across regions.
- Set a clear leadership tone and operating model that reinforces accountability, collaboration, and disciplined execution.
- Build leadership depth through talent development, succession planning, and performance management consistent with senior leadership expectations.
Leadership Expectations
- Operates as an enterprise leader with the ability to influence outcomes beyond direct reporting lines.
- Exercises sound judgment in balancing client outcomes, commercial objectives, technology constraints, and risk considerations.
- Demonstrates strong executive presence and credibility with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Leads effectively in a highly matrixed, global organization with shared accountability models.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in product development, product leadership, or related roles within financial services, asset servicing, or data‑driven platforms.
- Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership level within a complex, global organization.
- Deep subject‑matter expertise in Performance & Analytics products, data platforms, and modern data management approaches.
- Proven track record of delivering large‑scale change in environments with significant stakeholder complexity and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of operating models spanning Product, Technology, and Operations.
- Experience engaging with institutional clients and translating client needs into scalable product capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.

Salary Range:
$170,000 - $267,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
