Manager, Product Operations, Interchange Governance
Overview:
The Manager, Network Products will join a team driving the product strategy, roadmap, and execution of Mastercard’s global core payments network—one of the company’s most critical strategic assets, directly generating over $8B in revenue and enabling a broad portfolio of products and services.
The ideal candidate is a proven, forward thinking individual contributor who collaborates effectively across business, pricing, and technology organizations. This role partners closely with Global and Regional Pricing and Engineering teams to deliver operationally ready, market leading solutions. Responsibilities include ownership of documentation, governance processes, and enablement efforts that improve customer experience, speed to market, and operational excellence. The objective is to support delivery of a globally standardized, transparent, and scalable interchange governance model while improving implementation quality, customer satisfaction, and enterprise alignment.
The role:
The Manager, Interchange Governance, provides hands on ownership and operational oversight of Mastercard’s global interchange governance capability. The role is accountable for driving execution, enabling cross functional alignment, and supporting high quality, customer centric interchange implementations across all regions. This position leads through subject matter expertise and influence, coordinating with pricing, product, and technology partners to accelerate time to market and standardize processes.
- Define, maintain, and evolve the global Interchange operating model, including governance workflows, decision frameworks, standardized processes, and documentation.
- Operate and support the Single Door Entry governance model for global Interchange requests, ensuring transparency, prioritization, capacity coordination, and consistent decision making.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of Interchange enablement by aligning execution plans with enterprise goals, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
- Act as a primary escalation and coordination point for complex, high impact, or cross regional Interchange initiatives.
- Drive speed to market by identifying and implementing process improvements, tooling enhancements, and cross functional execution efficiencies.
- Execute within an agile, scalable implementation model that balances speed, quality, and risk while accommodating regional market variation.
- Manage global Interchange demand intake and solutioning activities, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with global governance standards.
- Partner closely with global and regional pricing, product, and technology teams (CCM, GCMS, MPS) to align roadmaps, readiness, and implementation timelines.
- Support customer centric implementation and testing practices to improve delivery quality, compliance, and customer engagement.
- Contribute to enterprise enablement and continuous improvement through training materials, implementation playbooks, KPIs, and performance insights.
About you:
- Brings deep expertise in the payments industry, including strong hands-on knowledge of Interchange and GCMS, with a proven understanding of the Mastercard ecosystem and how technology delivery drives business outcomes.
- Operates with a high degree of independence and accountability, demonstrating sound judgment and end to end ownership of program delivery.
- Builds strong, trusted relationships across the organization and effectively influences stakeholders at all levels, including senior and executive leadership, while establishing credibility with cross functional teams.
- Apply continuous improvement principles to enhance delivery frameworks, operational processes, and overall team efficiency.
- Makes thoughtful, data driven decisions by assessing risks, managing tradeoffs, and resolving escalations in fast moving, complex environments.
- Leverages emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve program management practices, increase operational efficiency, and support more informed decision making.
- Exhibits a self-starter mindset with a strong ability to learn quickly, work independently, thrive in fast paced environments, and adapt to shifting priorities while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Possesses exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, lead, and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization, as well as internal and external partners.
- Demonstrates strong visual storytelling capabilities, including data visualization and the creation of clear, compelling executive level presentations.
- Brings strong project management capabilities, with demonstrated excellence in organization, planning, and task execution.
- Is a highly collaborative partner, able to work effectively across functions to drive shared outcomes.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. O'Fallon, Missouri: $130,000 - $221,000 USD
