Product Operations Specialist Jobs in Alaska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product operations specialist in Alaska?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field, followed by experience in a coordination, analyst, or program support role. Alaska does not require a state-issued license for this position. Employers in Anchorage and Fairbanks, particularly in oil and gas and defense contracting, typically look for candidates who can demonstrate process improvement work and cross-functional project support in regulated or field-operations environments.
Which companies hire product operations specialists in Alaska?
Employers hiring product operations specialists in Alaska right now include Speechify, Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, and GCI, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Alaska's dominant industries, including oil and gas, federal defense contracting, and state agency operations, generate the steadiest hiring volume for this role statewide.
Which Alaska cities have the most product operations specialist jobs?
Anchorage, Alaska, and Kachemak City account for the largest share of product operations specialist openings in Alaska. Anchorage drives the majority of postings as the state's commercial and administrative center, home to corporate offices for energy companies and federal contractors, while Fairbanks and Juneau contribute openings tied to university operations, military installations, and state government agencies.
Are there remote product operations specialist jobs in Alaska?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 71% of product operations specialist openings tied to Alaska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of much of the work. The portions of the role most commonly performed remotely include data reporting, process documentation, and cross-team program coordination, particularly for roles supporting distributed operations across Alaska's wide geography.
How can I get hired as a product operations specialist in Alaska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an operations coordinator, program assistant, or business analyst role at a large Alaska employer such as a state agency, a federal contractor based in Anchorage, or a regional utility. These positions build the workflow management and stakeholder coordination experience that product operations roles require. A project management certificate from an accredited program strengthens a junior application, and lateral moves from supply chain, logistics, or administrative analyst roles are common routes into the specialty at Alaska employers.
Where can I find and apply to product operations specialist jobs in Alaska?
You can find and apply to product operations specialist jobs in Alaska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Alaska openings for this role. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
