Neonatologist Clinical Assistant / Associate / Professor

The University of Florida, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an outstanding neonatologist to work in the Division of Neonatology at UF Health Gainesville Florida. The successful applicant will serve as a physician and provide clinical care in the Level IV NICU at UF Health Children’s Hospital. Scholarly work is expected, and physician-scientist tracts are available for qualified candidates. Excellence in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, is expected.

The Department of Pediatrics clinical services are delivered at UF Health Children’s Hospital, which was named one of the best Children’s Hospital in Florida in the 2025-26 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Nationally ranked in six pediatric specialties, UF Health Children’s Hospital provides the full spectrum of pediatric specialty and subspecialty services and is among the top children’s hospitals in the Southeast US. UF Health Children’s Hospital provides care for the children of Florida and is a major destination center for pediatric patients, both nationally and internationally, who require specialized attention for complex medical problems.
UF Health Children’s Hospital represents the only quaternary-care academic pediatric center in North Florida. The children’s hospital has 208 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric, neonatal and cardiac intensive care units. UF Health Children’s Hospital is part of the Children's Miracle Network's alliance of premier hospitals for children.
The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development, educating and training pediatric scientists, and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patient-oriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year, the department was home to over $20M in sponsored research.
UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges, as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes, including the Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute, the UF Genetics Institute, the Powell Gene Therapy Center, and the UF Health Cancer Center.

Commensurate with education and experience
M.D degree or equivalent and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida, and be board certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Specialized expertise in the care of critically ill neonates within a Level III or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU),
- Experience teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare trainees
- Demonstrated scholarly productivity in neonatology or related fields
