Project Development Manager Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project development manager job in Phoenix?
Focus your search on Phoenix's construction and real estate development firms along the Camelback Corridor, the infrastructure contractors tied to the city's ongoing expansion, and the utility and energy companies headquartered in the metro. Candidates who combine PMP certification with experience managing Southwest-specific permitting processes or large-scale commercial builds stand out. Networking through Urban Land Institute Arizona and the Phoenix chapter of the Project Management Institute opens direct lines to hiring managers.
Which companies hire project development managers in Phoenix?
Employers hiring project development managers in Phoenix right now include Colliers Engineering & Design, Cushman & Wakefield, and QTS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's market skews toward large general contractors, regional real estate developers, utility companies, and the growing semiconductor and data center construction sector driving demand across the East Valley.
Are there remote project development manager jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, though the role is often site-dependent, with fully remote positions more common for program-level or pre-development work than for hands-on construction or field coordination. About 50% of project development manager openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in technology, financial services, and corporate real estate portfolios where project oversight is desk-based rather than field-driven.
How can I get a project development manager job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is through a project coordinator or project engineer role with one of the metro's large construction or development firms, many of which run structured training programs tied to the city's sustained building boom. Employers tied to data center construction in the East Valley and residential developers active in the Northwest Phoenix and Surprise submarkets regularly hire junior candidates who hold a relevant degree and have internship or co-op experience.
Which industries hire the most project development managers in Phoenix?
The sectors hiring the most project development managers in Phoenix are Consulting & Professional Services and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's rapid population growth, active semiconductor facility buildout, and sustained commercial real estate pipeline make these sectors consistently the largest sources of project development manager demand in the metro.
