BME is currently hiring for the role of Civil Project Engineer. The Project Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day production of project oriented engineering. They are responsible for the implementation of individual projects at the direction of the Project Manager. The Civil Project Engineer coordinates workload, scheduling and prioritization for their assigned projects. As an engineering professional, the Civil Project Engineer carries a first-line of responsibility for the quality and accuracy of technical work products.
A representative list of the essential functions and responsibilities for the position includes the following:
- Scheduling and prioritization of work tasks within assigned project group to meet defined deadlines;
- Coordination of information flow between other internal work groups to affect timely and efficient completion of project tasks as assigned by the Project Manager;
- Responsible for execution of engineering and design in all conventional aspects of the subject matter;
- Plans and conducts work requiring independent judgement and evaluation;
- Directs basic and performs complex Civil 3D drafting;
- Directs basic designs and calculations, such as grades and utility locations;
- Performs complex designs and calculations;
- Directs quantity takeoffs and basic construction cost estimates;
- Assists in preparation of project specifications and project documentation;
- Performs basic and complex site observations and drawing reviews;
- Directs and performs project base data collection;
- Will check drawings for quality assurance purposes and governing agency requirements;
- Maintains excellent communications and relations with government agency personnel;
- Maintains client relations;
- Direct and indirect supervision and training of lower-level personnel;
- Attends municipal and client meetings, including outside normal work hours, as needed for projects, and;
- Participates in professional societies and business trade associations.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multiple aspects of civil engineering design.
- Civil 3D knowledge is essential.
- Completion of FE Exam/Engineering in Training certificate obtained; Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility desired.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 annually (dependent on years of experience)
