Project Management Consultant Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project management consultant in New Hampshire?
Most project management consultants in New Hampshire enter the field with a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline, then earn the Project Management Professional credential from the Project Management Institute, which is the benchmark qualification New Hampshire employers expect. New Hampshire does not have a state-issued license specific to project management consulting, so the PMP and demonstrated delivery experience are the practical gatekeepers for most consulting roles in the state.
How much do project management consultants make in New Hampshire?
Project management consultants in New Hampshire earn a median of about $90,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,950 for the lowest 10% to over $144,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project management consultants in New Hampshire?
Companies currently hiring project management consultants in New Hampshire include Amphenol, L3Harris, and Dartmouth Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's defense, healthcare, and financial services sectors consistently drive the largest share of project management consultant demand across the state.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most project management consultant jobs?
Nashua, Portsmouth, and Concord are the New Hampshire cities with the most project management consultant openings. Manchester and Nashua lead because they are home to the state's largest concentrations of defense contractors, financial services firms, and technology companies, while Concord draws demand from state government agencies and healthcare administration.
Are there remote project management consultant jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, and more than most fields, since project management consulting work is primarily analytical, communicative, and documentation-based rather than tied to a physical site. About 46% of project management consultant openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly the role has shifted to distributed delivery. Phases involving client discovery, vendor coordination, and status reporting are the most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a project management consultant in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a project coordinator or project analyst role, which large New Hampshire employers such as BAE Systems, Dartmouth Health, and Fidelity Investments use as feeder positions into senior consulting work. Candidates without experience should also target rotational associate programs at New Hampshire-based professional services and technology firms, where structured exposure to project delivery builds the portfolio employers want. Earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential before applying strengthens your candidacy when you lack direct consulting hours.
Where can I find and apply to project management consultant jobs in New Hampshire?
You can find and apply to project management consultant jobs in New Hampshire on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, specialization, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
