Our firm is looking for an individual that is a Superstar with a can-do attitude to join our dynamic team. This position is considered a full-time position M-F starting from 7:00 a.m-5:00 p.m. under the leadership of the General Manager. This individual is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects both pre & post construction. Provides leadership to the team supporting the project. This person will have 3-5 direct reports while fostering growth, development, coaching and mentoring his/her direct reports. Foster winning relationships with our clients to obtain more business. This role requires 80% office and 20% in the field. Must be willing to travel daily to sites.
Job description:
- Plans and executes projects, including but not limited to start-up, handoff, chart of accounts, contracts, insurance, sub-tier prequalification’s, bonds, permits, quality & safety programs, schedule, manpower, and equipment planning.
- Owns project contract documentation process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, progress photo, etc.
- Assist superintendent and field staff to find new means and methods of construction to increase profitability, quality and schedule.
- Manages project closeout process(punch list completion and closeout documentation.
- Contributes to business turnarounds and capital projects planning through effective sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and execution.
- Fostering positive relationships with team members, subcontractors, and clients. Practice empathy, diplomacy, and networking while contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Contributes to the development and execution of the risk management plan that addresses key risks to project. Serve as an advisor to the GM.
- Strong influencer: able to partner with various cross-functional teams to gather input and provide guidance. Project Mgr., estimators, superintendents, foreman’s, etc.
- Maintains a thorough understanding and adheres to all project contract document requirements that affect or impact work scopes (e.g. drawings, specifications, Sub-Subcontractors, and all ancillary documents.)
- Ability to manage the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including pattern analysis, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
- Analyze quotes to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement.
- Making sound business decisions. Understanding of soil conditions, utility conflicts, and other factors affecting the daily operation of jobs.
- Coordinate budgeting activities, including expense tracking, and forecasting.

- Prepares comprehensive bid proposal, including bid forms, insurance forms and any other necessary documentation.
- Advanced critical thinking skills. Must be a problem solver and adapt to unexpected daily disruptions or changes.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism & ethical practices including adhering to work schedules, following safety protocols, and conflict resolution.
- Emotional intelligence. Be proactive instead of reactive. Ability to funnel criticism, stress, and pressure with perseverance.
- Creating and finalizing Exit Margin plan for all projects.
- Attention to details with precise reviews on all bidding documents or requirements (drawings, specifications, addendums, front ends, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Ten or more years of operations in heavy construction plus a bachelor’s degree in construction management, technology or engineering.
- Ability to manage construction projects with a working capital between 1-15 million.
- Superior verbal & written communication skills.
- Excellent Soft Skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office, Agtek, Bluebeam, Bid 2 Win, Windows Environment and Microsoft Project.
- Working knowledge of estimating, engineering, cost tracking systems, and site surveying
- Contract Negotiations
- Valid NC Driver’s License
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
· Occasionally lift 5-50 lbs.
· Requires prolonged sitting when traveling or in office.
· Ability to work in different types of climates conditions throughout the year.
· Good depth perception and peripheral vision.
· Exposure to high noise levels.
