Property Accountant Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a property accountant in Arkansas?
Most property accountant roles in Arkansas require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance as the foundation. While Arkansas does not mandate a state-specific license solely for property accounting, many employers strongly prefer candidates who hold or are pursuing a CPA license issued through the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy. Building experience with property management software and CAM reconciliations alongside CPA candidacy is the most competitive path in this market.
How much do property accountants make in Arkansas?
Property accountants in Arkansas earn a median of about $66,330 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,810 for the lowest 10% to over $119,520 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire property accountants in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring property accountants in Arkansas include Walmart, SD Corporation, and Arkansas Talent, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's retail, banking, and multifamily housing sectors generate consistent demand from employers managing large owned or leased property portfolios across the state.
Which Arkansas cities have the most property accountant jobs?
Little Rock, Bentonville, and Rogers lead Arkansas in property accountant openings. Little Rock's concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and commercial real estate firms drives the bulk of demand, while Fayetteville and Bentonville benefit from the dense cluster of retail, logistics, and supplier companies anchored by Walmart's home base in Northwest Arkansas.
Are there remote property accountant jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than some finance roles, since property accounting is primarily desk-based and software-driven. About 15% of property accountant openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a genuine shift among property management companies toward distributed accounting teams. Lease administration, CAM reconciliation, and financial reporting functions are the tasks most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a property accountant in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a staff accountant or accounts payable specialist within a property management company or commercial real estate firm in Little Rock or Northwest Arkansas, then transitioning into property-specific accounting. Arkansas employers such as large multifamily operators and retail property groups regularly onboard accounting graduates for junior roles. Pursuing CPA candidacy through the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy and gaining hands-on experience with Yardi or MRI software gives entry-level candidates a meaningful edge over the competition.
Where can I find and apply to property accountant jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to property accountant jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and location preference, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
