Property Manager Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a property manager job in Columbus?
Focus your search on Columbus's multifamily residential sector, where new construction in neighborhoods like the Short North, Franklinton, and the Brewery District has created consistent demand for site-level and portfolio managers. Commercial and mixed-use property management firms near the Arena District and Easton also hire regularly. Candidates with hands-on leasing or maintenance coordination experience, especially with Columbus's growing student housing market near Ohio State, tend to stand out.
Which companies hire property managers in Columbus?
Companies currently hiring property managers in Columbus include B360 Management, Blue Castle Agency, and Brookfield Properties, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus's employer mix skews toward regional multifamily operators, national property management groups with local portfolios, and commercial real estate firms managing the city's expanding office and mixed-use inventory.
Are there remote property manager jobs in Columbus?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited by the hands-on nature of the role. About 0% of property manager openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and most of those involve desk-based functions like lease administration, owner reporting, or corporate asset management rather than on-site operations. Portfolio oversight roles with larger regional firms are the most likely to offer hybrid arrangements in the Columbus market.
How can I get a property manager job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Columbus is starting as a leasing consultant or assistant property manager at a multifamily residential community, particularly in high-turnover corridors like the Short North, Hilliard, or the university district. Columbus's student housing operators near Ohio State regularly hire entry-level staff and promote from within. A Certified Apartment Leasing Professional credential, even in progress, signals commitment and gives you a concrete edge over other applicants without a full property management background.
Which industries hire the most property managers in Columbus?
The sectors hiring the most property managers in Columbus are Hospitality & Tourism, Distribution & Wholesale, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus's steady population growth, Ohio State's enrollment footprint, and continued commercial development downtown have made multifamily residential and mixed-use real estate management the dominant sources of local demand.
