Entry Level Public Policy Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level public policy manager job?
Focus on internships, academic policy projects, or volunteer work with advocacy organizations or government agencies, since these experiences substitute for a long resume at the entry level. Tailor your application to show you can research issues, synthesize data, and communicate recommendations clearly. Candidates who demonstrate familiarity with the legislative process or regulatory frameworks tend to stand out for junior roles.
Which companies hire entry level public policy managers?
Companies hiring entry level public policy managers right now include TikTok, Amazon, and Liberty University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Nonprofits, think tanks, government contractors, and large corporations with public affairs or government relations teams are among the most consistent employers hiring at this level.
Are there remote entry level public policy manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are common at this stage. About 0% of entry level public policy manager openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, so fully remote positions exist but you may have more options if you can consider on-site or hybrid arrangements, particularly with government agencies and advocacy groups.
Are these new grad public policy manager jobs?
Yes, many of these openings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically asks for zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects in place of full-time work, or values a strong writing sample or policy portfolio over an extensive resume.
Which industries hire the most entry level public policy managers?
Entry Level public policy manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Education, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they rely heavily on regulatory engagement, stakeholder communication, and government relations work that benefits from dedicated policy staff even at the junior level.
