Quality Assurance Engineer Jobs in Cincinnati: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a quality assurance engineer job in Cincinnati?
Focus on Cincinnati's strongest hiring sectors: manufacturing, medical devices, and software development. Companies in Blue Ash, Kenwood, and the northern suburbs post quality assurance roles regularly, as do downtown fintech and consumer goods firms. Candidates with hands-on experience in regulated environments, ISO or FDA compliance, and tools like Jira or Selenium stand out. Networking through local manufacturing and tech meetups gives you an edge beyond the application itself.
Which companies hire quality assurance engineers in Cincinnati?
Companies currently hiring quality assurance engineers in Cincinnati include Medpace, Flavor Reddy Foods, and AbbVie, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Cincinnati's mix of legacy manufacturers, medical device firms, and growing software companies keeps demand for quality assurance engineers broad and consistent throughout the year.
Are there remote quality assurance engineer jobs in Cincinnati?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: software and test automation positions are frequently remote, while manufacturing, lab, and hardware quality roles require on-site presence. About 12% of quality assurance engineer openings tied to Cincinnati are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the strongest remote options concentrated in software and SaaS companies rather than Cincinnati's manufacturing and medical device employers.
How can I get a quality assurance engineer job in Cincinnati with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Cincinnati is through manufacturing or contract testing roles, where companies regularly hire quality technicians and inspectors who can grow into engineer-level positions. Cincinnati's consumer goods and automotive supply chain employers often hire entry-level candidates with associate degrees or certifications like ISTQB or ASQ. Internships at local medical device and software firms also convert to full-time roles, and Cincinnati State and UC co-op programs place students directly with regional employers.
Which industries hire the most quality assurance engineers in Cincinnati?
The sectors hiring the most quality assurance engineers in Cincinnati are Healthcare & Medical Services, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Cincinnati's deep roots in consumer goods manufacturing, a growing medical device corridor along the northern suburbs, and an expanding software development scene drive sustained local demand for quality assurance talent.
