Job Description: Quality Control Specialist (Compactor & Container

Manufacturing) (Outside position)

As a Quality Control (QC) Specialist, you will be the final line of defense in ensuring

our industrial compactors and containers meet rigorous structural and functional

standards. You will be responsible for the end-to-end inspection process, from initial

sub-floor leveling to the final coat of paint, ensuring every unit is built In Accordance

With (IAW) engineering drawings.

Your primary tool for documentation will be the GoCanvas app, where you will maintain

digital records of every inspection point to ensure 100% compliance and traceability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Structural & Pre-Weld Inspection

 Precision Alignment: Verify understructure is supported by blocks/jacks to

prevent warping; ensure sub-floors are level and flat per drawings.

 Dimensional Accuracy: Verify and record compactor assembly side widths pre-

weld.

 Surface Prep: Inspect packer assembly walls and sub-floors prior to ram

installation, ensuring surfaces are buffed and cleaned.

2. Mechanical & Hydraulic Systems

 Ram Installation: Measure and record the overall gap (LH/RH sum) to ensure it

does not exceed 1/4 inch.

 Cylinder Integrity: Verify cylinder attachment points are secured, pin collars are

welded, and pinning plate holes are unaltered (no "trim to fit").

 Hydraulics: Inspect hoses for proper routing, secure fittings, and zero leaks.

 Safety Compliance: Ensuring all units are serviced (greased) and mechanically

sound before moving out of the work cell.

 System Testing: Conduct 100 monitored ram cycles to ensure smooth operation

without scarring to walls or floors.

3. Weld Quality & Component Fitting

 Weld Auditing: Perform visual inspections of door hinges, breaker bar teeth,

container wall seams, and sump seams for penetration and quality.

 Component Verification: Ensure drag plates, latches, and fire ports are

installed per build sheets.

 Sealing: Confirm door seals are undamaged and debris-free, and drain plugs are

securely installed.

4. Finishing & Final Delivery

 Paint & Prep: Oversee degreasing, pressure washing, and masking. Verify

primer and paint codes against customer build sheets, ensuring a finish free of

runs or light spots.

 Documentation: Utilize the GoCanvas app to log all pass/fail data, including

water test results and rework details.

 Final Audit: Verify decals, data plates, and power unit serial numbers. Take

comprehensive photos of units loaded for shipment.

Qualifications

 Experience: 5+ years in quality control, preferably in heavy equipment

manufacturing, welding, or steel fabrication.

 Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings

and blueprints.

 Tech Savvy: Proficient in using mobile inspection software (GoCanvas or similar)

and digital photography for documentation.

 Detail Oriented: A "zero-defect" mindset with the ability to spot minute weld

flaws or dimensional variances.

 Physical Ability: Must be able to navigate a manufacturing floor, including

climbing, kneeling, and inspecting tight spaces within equipment.

Performance Metrics

 First Time Pass Rate: Achieving high-quality yields on initial water and cycle

tests.

 Documentation Accuracy: 100% completion

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
