Quality Supervisor Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality supervisor in Maryland?
Most Maryland quality supervisor roles require a bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a manufacturing discipline, combined with several years of hands-on quality assurance experience. Maryland does not issue a state license specific to quality supervisors, so employers rely heavily on professional credentials from the American Society for Quality, particularly the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer designations. Candidates targeting defense or biomedical employers should also pursue familiarity with AS9100 or FDA quality system regulations.
Which companies hire quality supervisors in Maryland?
Maryland quality supervisor roles are posted by Sysco, RR Donnelley, and Misfits Market and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Maryland's concentration of aerospace contractors, federal health agencies, and food manufacturing anchors create steady year-round demand across the state.
Which Maryland cities have the most quality supervisor jobs?
Hanover, Cheverly, and Thurmont consistently lead Maryland for quality supervisor openings. The Baltimore metro drives volume through its deep manufacturing, biomedical device, and food processing base, while the Bethesda and Columbia areas reflect the large defense contractors and federal health-adjacent employers concentrated along the I-270 and I-95 corridors.
How can I get hired as a quality supervisor in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a quality inspector or quality technician role first, then building toward supervisory responsibility. Maryland's biomedical device manufacturers and food processing companies regularly bring on quality technicians without supervisory backgrounds. Earning an ASQ Certified Quality Inspector credential and gaining experience with ISO or FDA documentation gives candidates a clear edge. Large Maryland defense contractors and manufacturers often promote from within, so targeting those employers for inspector or associate quality roles is a practical starting point.
Where can I find and apply to quality supervisor jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to quality supervisor jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings updated regularly. Search roles by location and specialty, find the positions that fit your background, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
